Before You Say Yes to Removal, Get an Honest Second Look

Here’s something worth knowing, and it isn’t a criticism of anyone: a company that removes trees for a living makes its money by removing trees. That’s simply how that business works — it doesn’t mean every removal recommendation is wrong, but it’s worth getting a second, independent opinion before you commit to something permanent.

We’re built differently. North Texas Plant Health Care works exclusively with ISA Certified Arborists who treat trees and shrubs to save them — and on the rare tree that’s truly gone beyond saving, we refer that work out to a separate company entirely. We don’t make more money whether the honest answer is “treat the tree” or “the tree has to come down.” Our only job is to tell you which one is true.

Questions Worth Asking Before You Agree to Removal

You don’t need to be an expert to ask a few good questions — right there, in the moment. Here’s what’s worth asking the person who told you it needs to come down:

Questions to Ask Them, Out Loud

Few to Ask Yourself Before Your Final Answer

Confident in your answers? That’s a good sign. Still unsure about even one? That’s exactly when a second opinion helps most — and it’s free.

Second Opinions on Tree Removal: Frequently Asked Questions

Does getting a second opinion cost anything or slow things down?

No — it’s a free, in-person visit, and we move quickly. Most of the time we can get out to your property faster than you’d expect.

Then we’ll tell you that plainly too. We’re not here to talk you out of a removal that’s genuinely necessary — we’re here to make sure you know for certain either way before it’s permanent.

No. We treat trees and shrubs to save them, and only refer out for removal on the rare tree that’s truly gone beyond saving. That’s exactly why our opinion isn’t shaped by a removal business model.

Absolutely. You don’t need paperwork in hand — a phone call and a gut feeling is a perfectly good reason to have us take a look. If nothing feels urgent yet, our Tree Health Checkup page covers general assessments too — or browse our Symptom Guide if you want to look into it yourself first.
